Police identify students in morning crash: One is critical

One teenager is in critical condition after a car accident this morning on New Haven Avenue.

Police said Carlton Tucker, 18, of Milford was driving at about 7:30 this morning when his car hit a utility pole on New Haven Avenue near Old Gate Lane. Carlton is listed in critical condition with head injuries, officials said.

His passenger, Jake Campbell, 17, of Milford was a passenger and suffered minor injuries. Police said Jake has been released from the hospital.

The Milford Board of Education will be notifying the school community of the incident and offering counseling services for students.

Utility crews are still working in the area and traffic will be allowed to pass through this area Eastbound on New Haven Avenue. The detours are anticipated to last until 8 p.m.
