Milford police are investigating an armed robbery attempt that took place on Feb. 7 around 11 p.m. at the Patriot Fuel gas station located on Boston Post Road.
According to a complaint, a black male described as being approx. 5'9” 275 pounds, wearing a black mask and dark clothing, entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money.
According to police, a customer entering the store interrupted the robbery while it was in progress, causing the suspect to flee empty-handed.
A K-9 track led officers to Shoreline Motel's parking lot, where it is believed the suspect's vehicle may have been parked.
A witness saw a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, leaving from the area. Police say it has not been determined if the vehicle was the suspect's vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Bassett, 203-878-6551.
