Caregivers locked out of their nursing and support positions at West River Health Care Center will gather on the Milford green Sunday afternoon for a prayer service.
Religious and community leaders will join the employees.
Workers have been locked out of their jobs since Dec. 13, when HealthBridge Management locked the doors because the union and company failed to come to agreement on a contract.
Family members of the nursing home residents will also join in the prayer service. Many have voiced complaints about the quality of care since the lockout, union officials said in a prepared statement.
In a letter opposing the imposition of the lockout, addressed to the HealthBridge leadership, Milford resident Rosemary Civitello said, “My mother and all the residents of the facility are at such a risk. Why do this to our loved ones?”
The prayer service will start at 5 p.m.
