The National Weather Service is warning that strong winds later Friday could cause power outages and close roads.
According to a special weather statement, a strong cold front will move across the region late this afternoon. Behind the front will be a strong northwest flow with winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts of 40 to 45 mph developing this evening.
Winds should subside to 10 to 20 mph by midnight, the National Weather Service reported.
