New business caters to growing trend: Simple cremations

Spotting a trend in burial and cremation services, the owners of Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home in downtown Milford have opened what they say is one of the first on-site cremation-only services.
By on-site, that doesn’t mean cremations are actually done on the Milford property. What it means is that there is a separate facility on the funeral home property that caters to people looking for either lower funeral expenses or simplicity when it comes to end-of-life decisions.
Ducks will soar down harbor Sunday for annual race

Milford Harbor will be filled with rubber ducks Sunday for the annual Milford Harbor Duck Race.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Fowler Pavilion, behind Milford Library.

Angela “June” Peretta Felis, 85, of Milford, wife of the late Patrick Felis Jr. , died May 8, at Milford Hospital.
Born on April 29, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Claire Peretta.
She is survived by her nephew Richard Brighindi of Stratford.
