Jazz series — Friday, May 18

The 2011/2012 Jazz Series at Milford Center for the Arts will conclude Friday, May 18, at 8 p.m., with a performance by Sambeleza. Sambeleza performs a wide variety of Brazilian songs with a jazz twist. Reservations are recommended. Family movie night — Friday, May 18

Friday, May 18, starts at 6 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Devon, 30 Ormond St. The movie is Cars 2. Dinner is 6 to 7 p.m. and includes a hot dog, chips, dessert, beverage and unlimited fresh popped popcorn. The movie follows and is free. Dinner is $6, ages 3-5 $3, under 3 is free. Car wash/tag sale — Saturday, May 19

The Woodmont UCC Youth Group will hold a car wash, tag sale and bake sale on May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1000 New Haven Ave., to raise funds for their Mission Trip to South Dakota. Tag sale donations welcome. The car wash is $5 for exterior and $20 for interior/exterior. Spring concert — Saturday, May 19

Milford Folk Society Spring Concert, Saturday, May 19, at 7 p.m., at United Presbyterian Church, 109 Seaside Ave. Tickets are $10 per person, $5 for those who bring a food item for the Milford Food Bank. Proceeds benefit Christian Community Action, which provides for those in need. Baked good sale also. Doors open at 6 p.m.

May market — Saturday, May 19

The Milford Garden Club will hold its May Market Saturday, May 19, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. behind the Milford Public Library. There will be annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, baked goods, crafts, a tag sale, conservation tips and more.

Breakfast — Sunday, May 20

Milford Chapter #49 Royal Arch Masons and Adam Sattig Council #35 Royal & Select Master Masons will present an all you can eat breakfast on Sunday, May 20, for members, friends and families at the Masonic Hall, 59 Broad St., from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Cost is $7, and includes a range of choices, such as fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast and potatoes, toast, orange juice, and coffee, or tea. Triathlon — Sunday, May 20

“Y” Tri will include three full triathlon events, but at shorter distances: a 300-yard swim (at the Woodruff YMCA facility), followed by a 10-mike bike race and finishing with a three-mile run. The swim is up and down six lanes of the pool for a total of 300 yards. The bike course is a single loop. The run is out and back with the finish under the giant F.I.R.M arch. Competitors can sign up as individuals ($70) or as teams ($80). Individuals or teams interested in participating may go online to firm-racing.com to register. Starts at 8 a.m. with registration starting at 6:30 a.m.

Healing mass — Monday, May 21

Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave., will hold a healing mass on Monday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. People who are ill in body, mind or spirit and those facing surgery will have the opportunity receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. For information call 203-874-0634.

Golf outing — Monday, May 21

The Irish Heritage Society of Milford will hold its 5th annual golf outing on May 21 at the Mill River Country Club in Stratford. The price is $165 per golfer, which includes an 11:15 a.m. check-in and luncheon, 12:30 p.m. shotgun start tee time for 18 holes of golf and cart and a 5:30 p.m. “19th hole” reception.
