The Foran High wrestling teams won four matches, losing only to Masuk of Monroe, at the Platt Tech Duals on Saturday.
Coach Frank Peters’ Lions opened the week with a 53-27 victory over New Haven at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
“We’re in pretty good shape, injury-wise,” Peters said. “We are 3-0 in the SCC and Prep and Cheshire are both 2-1.”
Foran plays host to Prep tonight and will greet Cheshire Wednesday at 6:30.
The Lions will hold their quad meet on Saturday at 10 a.m.
New Haven took a 12-0 lead on pins at 138 and 145 before Clay Callahan got Foran back on track with a 15-0 technical fall in his 152-pound bout.
It was 18-5 New Haven, before the Lions won the next four matches.
Zach Huebler started the rally with a win by fall in 1:21 at 170 pounds, and Mark Steeves pulled six more points back with a pin in 1:57.
John Buzelle gave Foran a 23-18 lead, when he pinned his 195-pound foe in 2:43.
Peter Bazzine stretched the lead to 11 points with a fall midway through his 220-pound match, before New Haven had a pin in the heavyweight division.
Liam Callaghan won unopposed for Foran at 106, and Jacob Pouliot by first-period pin to give Foran a 41-24 with three matches remaining.
New Haven needed three pins to win the match, but Foran’s Rodrigo Saprizi wrestled well in dropping a 5-1 decision at 120 to secure the victory for Foran.
At 126, C.J. Luth pinned out at 1:18 and Jesus Ortiz in 3:53 at 132.
In the loss to Masuk High (19-5), which won all five matches at the Duals, Liam Callahan pinned in 44 seconds, Luth in 53 seconds, freshman Patrick Fitzgerald in 2:34 at 132, Clay Callahan in 1:50, and Huebler in 3:08.
