A three-way intersection at High Street and West Main Street that long plagued motorists who thought it was confusing, is now a four-way stop.
The Milford Police Department and Milford Public Works Department recently installed a new stop sign at the intersection of West Main Street and High Street, going up the hill from the Parsons Government Center.
This four-way intersection was previously controlled by three stop signs, allowing westbound traffic on West Main Street — traffic going up the hill — to travel unrestricted through the intersection.
“As a result of traffic studies and feedback from the community, a fourth stop sign controlling westbound traffic on West Main Street was approved by the Board of Police Commissioners for the intersection,” said Police Spokesman Jeff Nielsen.
“This intersection is now controlled by stop signs in all four directions,” he added.
