To the Editor:
Peter Spalthoff has an exemplary record of life and work experience. Peter was living on his own at 18 years old after growing up in foster care. After graduating from high school, he served our country in the Dominican Republic Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He came home and served as a police officer. Several years later he accepted a position as a management trainee with Peoples Bank and spent the next 20 years managing and becoming the vice president market area manager. He moved on to another career in the mortgage industry and started his own financial services business.
He has served as a CFO and treasurer on many boards and committees in our community. His formal education in business and finance and his financial services background and management positions are relevant and invaluable to run and grow our city.
Peter is also a career humanitarian. He has an unquenchable drive to serve and has made a difference in our community every day. From working with the United Way, preserving the heritage of Milford, improving social aspects of living in Milford such as New Year’s Eve family events, to support for economic growth and improvement.
He possesses the qualities of a great leader; he is fair, self-aware and of high integrity. Peter is resourceful and knows how to get a job done. Peter’s endorsement by both the Republican and Independent parties speaks volumes. Peter is a proven leader and clearly has the qualifications to serve as Milford’s mayor.
