There will be a fireworks display, plus loads of pumpkins at the Boys & Girls Club of Milford’s third annual Pumpkins on the Pier event Saturday, Oct. 12, at Walnut Beach.
The festival will be from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., culminating with the fireworks display at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free and a free shuttle service will be provided, running continuously from Jonathan Law High School to the Pumpkins on the Pier event.
Joe Blichfeldt, a Milford resident, is providing the fireworks for the event. Fireworks will be set off by Atlas Pyro Vision Productions, Inc. of Jaffery, N.H.
Also new to the event this year is the Fun Bus and an arts and crafts area. The Fun Bus is an interactive big, green school bus that has been retrofitted to become a kid’s fitness center, complete with a trampoline, monkey bars, trapeze and slide.
The arts and crafts area will include a variety of crafters selling unique children’s and family oriented items.
There will be a pumpkin decorating area, pumpkin playground, antique and classic car show, children’s game area, entertainment and more. Attendees can also bid on pumpkins weighing more than 100 pounds at the giant pumpkin auction. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available for purchase in the pumpkin patch.
Pumpkins on the Pier is sponsored by Milford Bank, OEM Sources, Courtney Honda, Whole Foods Market, Tom Bach Jr., BIC, Subway, King Industries, Bob & Maryhelen Burk, Technology Marketing Corporation, TD Bank, L. Suzio Concrete, the Annual Milford Oyster Festival, Triple “S” Inc. and Joe Blichfeldt
