Law swim opens season

The Jonathan Law girls swim team opened its season being edged out 87-84 by Daniel Hand of Madison and losing 94-43 to North Haven on Tuesday.

Coach Melanie Paolini’s squad took two-of-three relays against Daniel Hand.

Sam Murphy, Amanda Smith, Liz Gregorio and Sally Ng won the 200 freestyle relay (2:04.20), and Smith, Ng, Gregorio and Angelica Jamie Loma was first in the 400 freestyle relay (4:12.69).

Kelsey Kopazna took the diving competition (141.08), Loma the 100 backstroke (1:07.58) and Liz Fowler the 100 breaststroke (4:12.69).

Against host North Haven, Loma in the 100 backstroke (1:07.58) and Fowler in the 100 breaststroke (1:32.46) were the individual winners.

Murphy, Smith Gregorio and Ng took the 200 freestyle relay (2:04.20), and Smith, Ng, Gregorio and Loma the 400 freestyle relay (4:12.69).
