West Shore finished third in Pool B at the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Wash.
Managed by Jocelyn Chang, the 12-14 stars from Milford, Orange and West Haven went 3-1 only to be ousted from a pool semifinal berth via tiebreaker by Nunaka Valley Little League from Anchorage, Alaska, which went on to win the title with a 6-2 victory over Canada.
Host Kirkland defeated Latin America 7-3 in the consolation game.
West Shore defeated Eagle Pass, Texas, 8-3 in its opener, and then knocked off Prague, Czech Republic by a score of 12-2.
Alaska defeated West Shore 8-5, before the locals bounced back with a 6-4 victory over Latin America.
West Shore was coached by Steve LaForte and Foran High’s Fallon Bevino.
Aubrey Bepko and Amanda Leone are from Jonathan Law, while Dani Kemp, Ashley Mendillo and Natalia Hart play softball at Foran High.
Lexi Dowling attends Lauralton Hall, and Kial and Madison Watts play for West Haven High.
Amity was represented by Addie Robbins, Tay Marchitto, Jill DeMaio, Amy Chacho, Janaya Young and Katie Koshes.
