Several of Milford’s weekend hot spots were visited recently by the Department of Consumer Protection’s Division of Liquor Control, and one, Citrus, was cited for reportedly selling liquor to minors.
State officials, working with local police, visited the local restaurants and bars last Friday, Aug. 3, and Friday, Aug. 11, during what a state official called “routine inspections.”
The officers investigated Mustang Sally’s Saloon, 21 Daniel Street; Anthony D’s Bar & Grill, 331 New Haven Ave.; SBC Restaurant, 15 New Haven Ave.; Indigo by the Water, 1 Schooner Lane; Alfa Pizza Restaurant, 54 Naugatuck Ave.; Stonebridge Restaurant, 50 Daniel Street and Citrus, 56 Broad Street.
Of the establishments visited, Citrus was cited with four counts of alleged sale to minors and four counts of allowing minors in the barroom.
Citrus will be scheduled for an administrative hearing before the Liquor Control Commission to address the charges, state officials said.
A state official said the other establishments were found to be in compliance and were not selling alcohol to minors.
