Milford unbeaten in Northeast

Jake Saley pitched a complete game and Milford Post 196 defeated Portland, Maine, 4-1 in the winner’s bracket final of the Northeast American Legion Tournament in Old Orchard Park, Maine on Saturday night.

Saley allowed six hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out four, as Milford improved to 28-6.

Shawn Cariglio, Saley and Sean Cameron had RBIs against Portland (22-9).

Nick Pinto had three hits, and Eddie Michaud and Cariglio two hits each.

Milford will play Concord, N.H. Sunday at 7.

With a win, it plays at 1 p.m. Monday, where a victory there sends them to the World Series in Shelby, N.C.

With a loss on Sunday, the locals will have to play and win games at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday to advance.
