Cameron, Siddall SCC scholar athletes

Stephanie Cameron and Ryan Siddall from Jonathan Law have been named The SportsCenter of Connecticut/Southern Connecticut Conference Scholar Athletes of the Month for December.
Now in its seventh year, The SportsCenter of Connecticut/SCC Scholar Athlete of the Month program will honor outstanding young men and women each month during the 2012-13 academic year.

A two-sport (gymnastics, softball) standout for the Eagles, Cameron has excelled in the classroom.
The junior captain of Law’s gymnastics team currently holds a 3.55 grade point average and has received Second Honors every year in her high school career.
Cameron is also a three-year varsity starter on the softball team and earned All State cheerleading honors her freshman year, showing a wide range of athletic ability.
Law Athletic Director Mike Hoggatt said: “Stephanie is a model student athlete in the classroom while playing sports. Many of her teammates look up to her as a leader on a daily basis.”
Ryan Siddall
A captain of Jonathan Law’s boys basketball team, Siddall has been a standout on the field and in the classroom. He currently holds a 3.74 grade point average, which places him in the top 15 percent of the graduating class.
Siddall has also received First Honors every year at Law, while taking AP and honors courses.
In addition to basketball, he is also a varsity member of the Eagles football and track teams.
Hoggatt said: “Ryan is one of the hardest working student athletes I have come across at Jonathan Law. Not only does he succeed in the classroom, but also on the playing field.”
SCC Commissioner Al Carbone said: “Many thanks to the Sports Center of Connecticut for its support of the SCC and the Scholar Athlete of the Month program.
“This conference has been proud of its success for the last 18-plus years, and to be able to recognize outstanding young men and women who demonstrate the desire and ability to succeed solidifies what the SCC is all about.”
Student athletes who are selected must be a varsity letterwinner and have a 3.0/B average while demonstrating leadership qualities.
Sports Center of CT/SCC Scholar Athlete of the Month recipients and receive a certificate, commemorative tee-shirt and a SportsCenter of Connecticut activity pass.
