John Joseph Kostek Jr.

John Joseph Kostek Jr., 79, of Milford passed away in Milford Health Care on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

He was born on February 25, 1933 in Bridgeport to the late John and Esther Macnovich Kostek, Sr.

He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was employed by Remington Arms and the Town of Stratford.

An active member of the community, he was a member of the VFW #9460 in Stratford, the Milford Senior Center and Remington Arms Gun Club. He also enjoyed fishing and cheering for the Yankees.

Mr. Kostek is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Voytek Kostek, devoted son Ronald John Kostek and his wife Susan of Oxford, granddaughter Samantha Lynn Kostek, brother-in-law Stephen Voytek of Bridgeport, sisters Rosemary Kostek, Elizabeth Robinson both of Bridgeport and Marion Buckley of Florida, a nephew and two nieces.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Robert Kostek.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Milford Health Care for all their help.

Calling hours are Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Prays will be said during the calling hours. Interment will be private.
