Police make arrest in TD Bank robbery

Milford Police arrested a New Haven man Saturday for allegedly robbing TD Bank on the Boston Post Road.

Police arrested Jean LaCourciere, 33, of 121 Auburn Street, New Haven, after investigating the incident at 1361 Boston Post Rd.

Police said LaCourciere entered the bank and provided the teller with a note demanding money, implying that he was armed with a weapon. LaCourciere left the bank and was located by police to the rear of 1201 Boston Post Road, police said.

During the apprehension, officers found LaCourciere in possession of a portion of the stolen money and a 14-inch knife, which was tucked in the waistband of his pants.

He was charged with robbery 1st degree 53a-134, larceny 4th degree 53a-125 and carrying a dangerous weapon 53-206. La Courciere is being held on $300,000 bond and is expected to be scheduled for arraignment Monday at Milford Superior Court GA 22.
