Donald Joseph Dickovick Sr.

Donald Joseph Dickovick, Sr., 85, a lifelong resident of Milford and loving husband to Julianne Dickovick of 62 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19th, 2013.

Donald served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was an active member of the Legion Post # 196 and enjoyed spending time as a member of the Woodmont B’s. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s, Church. He retired in 1986 from Norden Systems in Norwalk as a Divisional Proposal Administrator.

Don and Julie took many trips to St. Croix to visit with friends there. He also enjoyed sailing his boat out of Milford Harbor. When the weather got chilly, he liked nothing better than settling down in the front of a roaring fire.

In addition to his loving wife, Don is survived by his sons, John Dickovick of Derby, Donald Dickovick Jr. of Wareham, MA, Lawrence Dickovick of Woodbridge, Todd Dickovick of Milford, and Paul Dickovick of Shelton; his eight grandchildren; his great granddaughter; his sisters Claire Flanagan of Florida and Dottie Dowling of Vermont.

He is predeceased by his daughter Catherine (Irwin) Dickovick and brother Lawrence Dickovick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church; 70 Gulf Street in Milford CT 06460, at 10:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery, on Buckingham Avenue, in Milford, CT 06460. Friends and family may call Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street Milford, CT 06460 from 4-7 PM.
