Foran gains final

Bob Notholt scored 22 points to lead four Lions who scored in double figures when coach Tim Swaller’s Foran High boys basketball team defeated Sheehan of Wallingford, 80-54, in the first round of the Platt Tech Christmas Tournament on Wednesday night.
Foran (2-3) will meet Bullard-Havens (3-1) in tonight’s final. The Tigers defeated Tech, 70-43.
Foran took a 19-2 lead in the first quarter on Sheehan (2-3), and won every period.
Austin Woods scored 17 points and had 16 rebounds.
Matt Gomes scored 17 points, and was 8-for-9 from the foul line.
Kevin Green scored 16 points and handed out nine assists.
Nick Weissauer knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
