Man arrested, suspected of five robberies in Milford

In September and October, the Milford Police Department received five complaints regarding armed robberies that occurred in Milford.

The suspect’s description was similar to those of other towns/cities in Connecticut where the suspect displayed a knife and demanded money from the employees.

On December 8 the Guilford Police Department had a similar robbery occur in their town. Investigators from the West Haven, Guilford and Milford Police Departments developed information which led to the apprehension of the suspect by a Guilford detective.  The suspect was identified as Anthony Simons, 44, of 353 Center Street, West Haven.

Simons was interviewed by investigators and confessed to four robberies in the Milford area and several others in the state.

As a result, the Milford Police Department has secured four arrest warrants for Simons with a fifth arrest warrant pending.  Simons is currently incarcerated regarding his arrest in Guilford.
