Rozier to play for title

Ricky Rozier out of Jonathan Law and his Winston-Salem State University football team earned a berth in the NCAA Division II National championship with a 41-18 victory over West Texas A&M at Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, S.C. on Dec. 8.
WSSU (14-0) will play Valdosta State for the title in a game to be televised line on ESPN2 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 in Florence, Ala.
Rozier, a senior fullback carried the ball trhree times for nine yards and caught a pass for a 12-yard gain for the Rams, which took a 20-7 lead into the half over the 12-3 Buffalos.
The 6-2, 230-pound Rozier has played in every game and has scored a fifth-best six touchdowns for coach Connell Maynor.
The son of Veronica Carter and Ricky Rozier Sr., a former player at Cornell University, Rozier was an All-State selection in football, wrestling and track at Law, where he is the record holder in the shot put with a throw of 51-3.75.
