Milford police arrested a West Haven man on a warrant for reckless endangerment and threatening after the man allegedly collided his car into that of an acquaintance on Aug. 29.
Police say that Matthew Daigle, 22, of West Haven had been following an acquaintance during the day of Aug. 29, attempting to make contact with her. Daigle allegedly sent a text message to the acquaintance indicating he was going to crash his vehicle into her vehicle unless she stopped and talked to him.
As the victim was traveling on Ford Street, she stopped her vehicle at the intersection of West Rutland Road, where Daigle then positioned his vehicle in front of the victim’s. As the victim attempted to drive away, Daigle drove his vehicle into the other vehicle, causing significant damage. According to police, Daigle then left the scene.
Daigle is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, reckless driving, and evading responsibility. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 27.
