Milford police arrested a New Haven man on weapons charges on June 14 after an officer stopped a vehicle traveling on the Boston Post Road.
Police say they stopped Dwayne Singh, 26, of New Haven because of an improperly displayed registration plate on his vehicle. During the stop, police located a loaded handgun inside the vehicle which they say was not registered or properly permitted to be carried by Singh.
Police say that Singh provided police with false identification, but upon learning Singh’s true identity, a computer check revealed that Singh had three outstanding arrest warrants from the New Haven Police Department. The warrant charges included drug offenses, stalking, strangulation, threatening, assault and breach of peace.
Milford police is charging Singh with weapons in a motor vehicle, second-degree forgery, criminal impersonation, interfering with police, improper display of number plate, and three counts of failure to appear in court.
Bond was set at $1,000,000.
