Update: Police identify man who died in Milford scooter accident

The 53-year-old man who died after being thrown from his motor scooter in Milford Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Christopher Corvino of Milford.

Police said Corvino was driving his scooter eastbound on Bridgeport Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when he turned right onto Rivercliff Drive, struck the curb and was thrown from the scooter.

He was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived. Fire and police officials said that emergency life-saving efforts were started, and then Corvino was taken quickly to  Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
