To the Editor:
What child can’t use a bit of “home” with them at the hospital? Each ICU room is filled with beeping machines, a sterile environment, and little comfort. The Helping Hearts program provides homemade pillows to patients in the pediatric ICU.
In order to provide each patient with a gift that will brighten their day, we need to make hundreds of pillows every month. On March 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Freelove Baldwin Stow DAR will be hosting a Kisses From Katie “Pillow Party” to produce as many pillows as possible.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know at kissesfromkatie.org. Our needs are simple. We need bodies. Everyone can help in some way, but we need some people with skills.
If you know how to sew effectively, we will honor and revere you all day. And we need additional sewing machines to support production. Again, our Kisses from Katie “Pillow Party” will take place on at 55 Prospect Street in Milford We hope to see you all there.
