Jonathan Law High School students, wearing purple ribbons and carrying a photograph of Maren Sanchez, the student stabbed and killed at school Friday, joined this year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in downtown Milford.

The annual event is sponsored by the Milford Rape Crisis Center and is designed to raise awareness about violence against women.

Maren was attacked by a boy at her school Friday. Friends and social network sites say she was attacked because she would not go to the prom with the boy.
