The Milford Police Department released its official report on Friday’s fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Maren Sanchez at Jonathan Law High School.

The reports adds a few details of what transpired, including the fact that the young woman was stabbed multiple times.

“On April 25 at 7:14 a.m., a 16-year-old female student was assaulted by another 16-year-old male student in a hallway adjacent to a stairwell inside the school,” the report states. “A school nurse, assisted by other school staff members attempted to perform life saving measures on the student. Emergency Medical Services who arrived on scene continued to perform life saving measures and transported to Bridgeport Hospital where the victim student was pronounced deceased at 7:43 am this morning.”

“The victim suffered multiple lacerations to her neck, chest and facial areas during the incident. The State of Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting their investigation into the cause and manner of death.”

“A school staff member who witnessed a portion of the assault, along with other school staff members, were able to remove the suspect student from the immediate scene. The suspect was then taken into custody by the School Resource Officer of Jonathan Law High School.”

Milford Police and Milford Board of Education officials worked collaboratively to send the students home to allow investigators to process the scene and conduct the investigation.

The Milford Board of Education will be providing counseling services for students, families and others affected by this tragic event.

“Investigators have recovered a knife at the crime scene as evidence in this investigation,” the police report states. “Police have also executed a search warrant at the juvenile suspect’s residence.”

“The 16-year-old suspect is in police custody at a local medical facility and has been charged as a juvenile offender at this time with murder. The juvenile arrestee is expected to be arraigned and formally charged in Juvenile Court in New Haven on April 28. The Milford Superior Court will follow up with a determination if the case will be handled as a juvenile or adult proceeding.”

Police are still on scene at the high school and will be continuing to investigate.

Castrate the little punk an throw him in general population. Its time to send a clear message to these young disaffected teens. There should be consequences other than temporary fame.

      Well said, and Thank you.

Castrate? Hang him. The only way a person should find a pardon through the murder of another human being is through execution. THAT will send a clear message.

LieutenantCharlie, “Re: Has the Democrat Party started its’ “Lets Ban Knives” Program yet ????” I am not sure but we, the republicans need to start a Nukes in our wallet program so that we Americans all carry nukes with us just in case Canada decides to attack us. Those Canadian war mongerers cannot be trusted and we will carry arms and protect ourself

Whatever your political view, this has nothing to do with it. You’re the prime example of why some people shouldn’t have weapons. Perhaps you could just nuke yourself and do all of us a favor.

This cretin better be tried as an adult. He committed an adult crime. And how does a male born in 1998! have such a dated & twisted mentality towards respecting women? Where did that come from? He managed to not attack and kill any of his male classmates, but a female classmate was the ideal target? We’ve a long way to go with teaching our young men anger management and respect for women.
