Young inventors will start filing into the Parsons Complex gymn at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday to set up their inventions.
Word has it there will be a coat that features body warmers and a water bottle; and a device to help people find lost keys and lost remote controls, and many other creative ideas.
The Milford Education Foundation’s first Milford Invention Convention takes place this weekend, and local organizers are excited to see what sort of creations and contraptions Milford’s youth will present.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and residents are invited to come and have a look.
The invention convention gives students from grades K-8 the opportunity to present their invention, said Jennifer Ju, a founder of the Milford Education Foundation.
Milford Education Foundation President James Maroney said he expects to see some interesting inventions in Milford Saturday.
“The main thing to expect to find is enthusiastic kids and creative ideas,” Maroney said. “The public is invited to walk around, view the inventions, and talk to the students about their ideas and the process. We have a great panel of judges who will be interacting with the students and selecting the inventors to represent Milford at the statewide invention convention in Storrs.”
The Connecticut Invention Convention takes place in May.
