Power outage sends Calf Pen Meadow students to Foran for the day

At 10:15 this morning, there was a power outage in the Calf Pen Meadow area, sending Calf Pen Meadow Elementary School students to Foran High School.

“Apparently, a tree limb fell on some wires, causing power disruption to that area of Milford,” said School Spokeswoman Kathy Bonetti. “UI was contacted immediately.”

After evaluating the situation with UI, school administrators – along with central office administrators – worked to have the Calf Pen Meadow students relocated to Foran High School for the remainder of the day. Students arrived to Foran by bus; lunch was served at Foran to the  students.

At about 1:15 p.m., power was restored to Calf Pen.

Calf Pen Meadow students will finish out the day at Foran.  Students who normally are transported home by bus will depart from Foran and be dropped off at their stops, as normal.  All other Calf Pen Meadow students will be returned to their school by bus at the end of the day.

The YMCA Program will be open today at Calf Pen Meadow.
