John “Jack” W. Mullins, age 88, beloved husband of the late Patricia A. Mullins, passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, October 24, 2012.
Mr. Mullins was born in Bridgeport, CT on August 19, 1924 to the late John and Elsie Schroeder Mullins.
He served honorably in the US Army during World War II. He was a life-long Milford resident and worked as a life insurance agent at the John Hancock Life Insurance Company for 38 years.
Mr. Mullins also served as chairman of the board of the Laurel Beach Association. His greatest joy in life was his wife of 62 years, his loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Mullins is survived by his six children: John J. Mullins and his wife Phyllis of Milford, Diane Ohlson and her husband Edward of Allentown PA, Susan Secondi and her husband Robert of Milford, Linda Gilbert and her husband William “Butch” of Milford, Paul Mullins and his wife Elizabeth of Orange and James Mullins and his wife Victoria of Orange. “Pop” also had 16 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jack is survived by two sisters, Patricia Dinan and Jean Bown.
He also was predeceased by a brother, William Mullins.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St Gabriel’s Church on Monday morning, 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call tomorrow, Sunday, from 3-6PM at The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
