Man nabbed for motel assault and knife-point robbery

Milford police arrested a New Haven man on Oct. 21 after he allegedly assaulted his spouse and then robbed several customers at knife-point.

Police say that Pedro Poupart, 30 of New Haven was staying at the motel with his spouse, when he allegedly struck and physically restrained her when she attempted to leave the room.
Police also discovered that Poupart allegedly entered a room of two motel customers and brandished a knife in an attempt to rob them of their belongings.
Police say they recovered the knife and a small amount of marijuana from Poupart during his arrest.
He is charged with third-degree assault, 2 counts each of second-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree threatening, first-degree robbery and possession of marijuana.
Bond was set at $50,000.
