Milford’s Planning and Zoning Board voted Thursday night to deny an applicant’s request to build a housing development off Pond Point Avenue.
The plan was filed under the state’s affordable housing law, which gives the developer the upper hand in gaining approval for an application.
Residents had turned out in droves to speak at public hearings about the plan. Many cited traffic, flooding and other concerns.
In voting Thursday night, board members echoed some of those health and safety concerns as their reason for denying the application.
