On December 17 at about 8:15 p.m. the Milford Police Department was contacted by the staff at Milford Hospital regarding a man attempting to leave a young child in the custody of their hospital staff.
Police said Ryan Woods, 30, of 4 Fullham Road, North Brookfield, Mass., arrived at the hospital with a 21 month old child. Woods told the hospital staff that he could not care for the child and left the child in their custody.
Investigators discovered that there was an active Amber Alert issued by the Massachusetts State Police regarding Woods and the child. The North Brookfield Massachusetts Police Department had an outstanding extraditable arrest warrant for Woods accusing him of reckless endangerment of a child and theft of a motor vehicle.
The child was examined by hospital staff, found to be unharmed and was later reunited with the mother. Milford police located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the hospital.
Woods was taken into custody and charged with Fugitive from Justice 54-170 of the Connecticut General Statutes and held on a $50,000 bond. He is expected to be arraigned in Milford Superior Court GA #22 on Dec. 18.
