The Milford Police Department’s seventh session of the Citizens Police Academy will begin on Jan. 8 and conclude with a graduation ceremony on April 2.
The Milford Police Citizens Academy is a 12-week program where the participants attend a 2.5 hour session each week, learning about the Milford Police Department and the equipment used by the officers. Participants will be introduced to a variety of topics, including CPR, firearm safety, computer crimes and police K9 teams, and will have an opportunity to ride along with an on-duty police officer.
The Citizens Academy is open to residents, property or business owners within the city of Milford and 21 years of age or older. There are still a few spaces available, so the deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, Dec. 20.
