Crossing guards needed

The Milford Police Department is accepting applications for school crossing guard positions, in the hopes of hiring four new crossing guards.

“Providing a safe environment for children traveling to and from school is very important to the Milford Police Department,” said Police Spokesman Jeff Nielsen. “With the need for children to cross the road at intersections and other areas within the city, the Milford Police Department utilizes school crossing guards throughout the school year, who monitor these areas and provide assistance when children are crossing the roadway.”

Crossing guards work Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon hours only.

For information contact the Milford Police Department Traffic Division at 203-878-5244 or in person at 430 Boston Post Road, Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
